Pastor Nimrod is of Samoan heritage, he was born in Wellington New Zealand, came to Australia at fours years of age, and grew up in Sydney. He attended Auburn SDA Primary School and Sydney Adventist College in Strathfield. Nimrod has an immense passion for God, God’s Word, and family. His ministry passion is growing disciples of Jesus who go on to make disciples of Jesus. Nimrod works to align and leverage the gifts and passions of Avondale Memorial to expand the kingdom of God, first in the local area, then afar. Nimrod and his wife Renae have five children (4 sons, 1 daughter), and two granddaughters. Pastoral ministry faithfulness for Nimrod is “having those closest to him love him the most.”
As a six year-old, I told my pastor "When you die, I'm going to do your job", in hindsight I'm very relieved that he didn't have to die for me to begin my own pastoral ministry, and I'm very glad to say that he is still serving here in Australia, but from that point onwards, being involved in ministry was the only thing I could see myself doing. I have been very blessed to have many opportunities throughout my life for tasting different forms of ministry through overseas preaching tours, to local community ministry opportunities and most recently, serving as a minister in our NNSW Conference. I'm in my mid 20s now, and I'm looking forward to how God works during my time here at Avondale Memorial, and I can't wait to walk that journey together.
